V Nanammal the oldest yoga teacher used to teach 100 students per day and taught over 1Million people and help them in improving themselves. Her many students are yoga instructor worldwide, she had won various awards

-:2018 – India's fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri News18 reported her, being the oldest recipient of the award.

Early Life

V Nanammal was born in 1920 in an agricultural family. She started yoga when she was 8 years old and with few years she mastered more than 50 ahsaans. Her father knew martial art and from him she learned yoga. In 1972 she established Ozone yoga center in Coimbatore.



Later Life

Nanammal attempted to get on to the Guinness Book of World Records by teaching yoga to over 20,000 students and enthusiasts in Coimbatore. Her objective was to create awareness among women, mainly girl students, about yoga techniques by going to various educational institutions to solve several health-related problems, especially after marriage. She was also going to take part in Indian reality show 'India's Got Talent' as a contestant.
